In his photo series “My DNA,” the Japanese-American artist Michael Koerner confronts the effects of the atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki on his family. He uses collodion tintype, a laborious method of photography that was in vogue during the 1850s, to tackle the subject of atomic radiation, and the paradigm-altering historical atrocities of war.
